"The mediator of the inexpressible is the work of art."
~ Goethe
It all begins with sensing. I open my awareness to what happens in my body — inside and outside my skin, in dark and light.
Through touch, I listen to you: Which direction? How much? Fast or slow? Am I giving or receiving?
I organize my body to support you. How much do I lean on you?
Together, we listen to the quiet story that emerges — appears and disappears — expressing what cannot be spoken.
In the first part of the day, we will explore ways to influence the quality of our body weight — how to root and ground ourselves as a base, and what supports us in becoming lighter as a flyer.
We will take a deeper look at the action of extension and the different qualities of pushing and reaching, as a biomechanical organizing principle, of the musculoskeletal system, which greatly
affects the body's quality in dance.
As the day progresses, we will open a space to create with the “material of gravity” — weight. We will invite diverse modes of expression, held by clarity, trust, and freedom, allowing the body
and heart to reveal and share our story through dance.
